Welcome to Swifts Class
Swifts Class (Year 1 and Year 2) is taught by Mrs Mercer on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and by Miss Foster on Tuesdays. The class is supported by Ms Pap and Miss Dodd.
We have a lovely, bright classroom with plenty of space, an inviting reading corner and lots of resources which the children can access independently to support their learning.
In Year 1, children begin to develop their ability to be more independent and engage in their learning in a more structured way, while still having plenty of opportunities for creativity, exploration and adventure. Children in Year 2 are then able to build on these important skills and embed their understanding of key concepts in readiness for Key Stage 2.
Parents, have a look on Class Dojo for all our latest class news and updates, including a roundup of our news each Friday. If you are looking for home learning resources, please go to the Swifts home learning page of our website.
In the Spring term, we are learning about Tanzania and finding out about its culture, geographical features and history. Have a look at our Spring term curriculum map below for an overview of what we'll be learning about.
Here is our timetable for the academic year 2020-21: Swifts Class Timetable. PE lessons take place on Tuesdays and Fridays each week, so please come to school wearing your PE kit on these days.
Remember to bring the following items to school each day:
